What is laser therapy like for my pet?

The process bears much similarity to how it is performed in humans. Our trained veterinarian will aim light at the targeted areas of your pet’s body. The doctor controls the laser level based on how deep the light needs to penetrate. (For instance, surface wounds require a lower frequency.) The light causes changes in the cells, which restores energy and reduces pain and inflammation. Changes at the cellular level encourages healing and other body processes.

Each session of laser therapy may last up to 30 minutes. Based on your pet’s condition, our veterinarian will determine how many sessions your pet needs.

What can be treated with laser therapy?

Some of the conditions that can be treated with this form of therapy are:

  1. Cellulitis
  2. Arthritis
  3. Kidney stones
  4. Hair loss
  5. Open wounds
  6. Allergies
  7. Muscle, tendon and ligament injuries

If your pet is experiencing any of these issues, contact us to discuss treatment with one of our veterinarians. To schedule an appointment, call 905-576-3344.

Is laser therapy safe for my pet?

Yes! We work with extreme caution when providing this service to pets. Their safety and comfort are our top priorities. Our veterinarians and pets wear protective sunglasses. Most pets relax during treatment as they begin to feel some relief.
